What is Work-Based Learning?
WBL is an opportunity to be released from school early to go to work and start gaining real-world work experience AND get school credit! The position can be a part-time paid or and unpaid internship.

Who can apply?
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Have a good attendance and discipline record
- Provide your own dependable transportation to and from the job site
How do I apply?
- Get an application from Dr. Morris--Room 503.
- Complete the application with signature from a parent/guardian.
- Have two teachers complete recommendation forms.
I Applied, Now What Happens??????
Dr. Morris will review applications and teacher recommendations to decide who is eligible to enroll in WBL. She will send you notification via your email if you are accepted into the program.
Parent Meeting
There will be a mandatory meeting for parents who are accepted into the program. This meeting will be in August within the first two to three weeks of school.

Dr. Morris is excited to be working with the students and teachers of West Laurens High as your WBL Coordinator. Prior to transferring to WLH, she served as the WBL Coordinator for East Laurens High for 30 years. Summer 2017 she was selected and completed the Georgia DOE Top Gun program for Work-Based Learning Coordinators.
