Report to Parents: Safeguarding Kids' Online Activities
The Central Bucks School District will be hosting another Parent Positive Community Meeting on Tuesday, November 1st - at Lenape Middle School starting at 7:00PM. The program theme will be Kids & Technology which will hold a special screening of the documentary Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. In coordination, this edition of Report to Parents: Safeguarding Kids' Online Activities focuses on taking an active role in knowing what our children are accessing.

11/11/15 - Veteran's Day at Buckingham - Military Invitation
We are extending an invitation to the family members of any current student who serves or served in the United States military to join us for a tribute to veterans on Wednesday, November 11th.
Please contact Mrs. Doris Borghi to RSVP by November 4th. Details and information will be distributed in next week's Thursday Folder. We would simply like to acknowledge the veterans in our families. Parents, due to limited space for our assembly, thank you for understanding that this occasion is for our students, staff, and honored guests only.
Soles-4-Souls - Buckingham Elementary Shoe Collection Site
CB East Sophomore, Andrew Lapeire, is connecting with Soles-4-Souls to attain his Eagle Scout Status. His goal is to collect 350-pairs of shoes to help families around the world avoid disease and live healthier lives!
Tell your friends, tell your family!!! Bring in the shoes!!! Thanks for your help!
Buckingham Rockin' Roots Bulb Collection (Flowers)
In the next few weeks, students will plant daffodil bulbs all around Buckingham Elementary School in coordination with Bulbs for Bucks Spring Daffodil Tour next spring!
Our bulbs will sleep during the fall and winter, and begin to "activate" in early spring when they bloom and share their beautiful bright colors around our school.
Please help by sending daffodil bulbs (one bulb or as many as you want) from your family to your classrooms by 11/3 !! Bags will be provided for each classroom’s collection. Our Buckingham Rockin’ Root Students will help oversee the plantings throughout our Buckingham Gardens.
Thank You for your help as we continue to beautify Buckingham!

- For September, we are featuring the work of Mallory Sexton in Mrs. Wilde’s 1st grade class, and Jayden Austin from Mrs. Hicks’ 4th grade class!
- For the month of October, we are featuring the work of Allison Minacci from Mr. Smith’s 2nd grade class, and Claire Parker from Mr. Radcliff’s 6th grade class!

Reading Olympics - 5th & 6th Grade Invitation
All 5th and 6th grade students are invited to join the 2016-2017 Reading Olympics team! Over the last few weeks, our Librarian - Mrs. Kraus - has discussed the RO-Team and the selected-books are flying off the shelves! If your child is interested to participate, it's not too late to join!
The first meeting is Tuesday, November 15th at 8:00am. Please drop your child off at the gym lobby doors. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria. Mighty "Night" at the Movies/Parent Speaker - 11/18
On Friday, November 18th, Buckingham Elementary will be hosting Mighty "Night" at the Movies for all students who have earned a Mighty Knight certificate during the first marking period.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
We will be utilizing a different format than is typical, by offering parents a choice of activities:
• OPTION 1: Parents may attend a presentation (free) in the gymnasium. Two Pennsylvania Licensed Psychologists, as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with The Center for Neuropsychology and Counseling, will present on "Emotional Regulation in our Children." ~ For more information about The Center for Neuropsychology and Counseling, please visit their website at: http://www.psychologyandcounseling.com/CPC_Staff.htm
• OPTION 2: Parents can remain with their child and attend the Mighty Movie (same as in the past).
***Please note: You do not have to have a child attend the Movie in order to be eligible to attend the Emotional Regulation Presentation. Walk-ins are welcome!

The Veterans Day Celebration at Buckingham Elementary will take place on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 9:00am to 11:45am. Please sign up to provide a tasty snack for our visiting veterans and their families. If you drop-off your items no later than 8:30am, that would allow enough time to set up.
