LET'S CELEBRATE
Tis' the season to take care of yourself! Staff Wellness Coordinator, Linda Poirier, organized a wonderful after school wellness event for staff. Master Lenny Yordan came to CCS on Wednesday, 11/16 from 3:30-4:30 to teach the fundamentals of martial arts. The attendees were amazed that they were able to break boards by the end of the session! Check out our amazing Alice Trageser and her powerful front kick!
CONGRATULATIONS! to Monica Lubic, Michelle Filardi and Shannon Spellman - Vermont-NEA mini-grant award winners. Their submission, Units of Study in Reading, displays a devotion to excellence in education for all students.
Mrs. Littlefield’s music classes received a grant from the PTO to purchase ukuleles and a ukulele rack! Students in many grades are having fun while learning to play these instruments. They are learning to play and sing simple songs as well as read music.
Shelburne and Charlotte tied with 79% voter turn out this past election. That means that each school will get a cash prize of $500 from the Charlotte-Shelburne Rotary for their "Get Out the Vote" contest.
Charlotte Central School would like to thank the Ferrisburg Jolley and Exxon Mobile for the $500 Educational Alliance grant. This grant supports educational focus and improvements for math and science programs. A huge thank you to our community partners in supporting our student's education.

CCS PTO ANNUAL FUND 2016/2017
Annual Fund
It is time for our annual fundraising activity! With full participation, we can reach our goal of $10,000! We encourage families to make a confidential monetary donation at any level.
Read-a-Thon
This year, all students can participate in a Read-a-Thon! Please use the chart on the flip side of this page to track pledges and minutes or books read. We hope this will provide a fun opportunity for the students to get directly involved with helping raise money for their school.
Once all of the money has been deposited, the class with the highest percentage of participation will receive a $100 gift card to the Flying Pig. Your donation will go directly to fund programs and grants like Four Winds, Young Writers Project, Residency programs, Author visits, the kitchen lab, music equipment, and more.
Deadline for all donations to be turned in to PTO will be December 12th. Donations will be accepted after this deadline, however they will not count toward the class participation award. You may use cash or check to pay, and watch our weekly newsletter for a Paypal option, coming soon as well. Contact ccspto@cssu.org with any questions.
Please submit the below slip, along with your payment in an envelope to your student(s) homeroom teacher(s), by placing it in the PTO mailbox at school, or by mailing to CCS PTO, PO Box 244, Charlotte VT 05445.
