*Important Calendar Update*
Change in Calendar -June 4th
Please note that because of students returning to campus four days a week and the discontinuation of the A/B cohorts we have made an adjustment to the calendar for Friday June 4th.
Friday, June 4th, will be an asynchronous day for all students. Students will not report to campus but will need to log into all their classes and complete the assigned work.
Congratulations Science Olympiad!
Meadowbrook is excited to congratulate all of our Science Olympiad students! The MBMS Science Olympiad Team placed 6th at regionals and 15th at State, we are so proud of our Mustangs!
We wanted to also recognize these individuals for their great accomplishments!
8th Graders:

Rajan Tavathia – Experimental design – 6th place at regionals and 4th place at State
Sam Borynski - Experimental design – 6th place at regionals and 4th place at State, Food Science – 5th place at State

7th Graders:

8th Grade Promotion
8th Grade promotion will be held live at MBMS on June 18th at 8:30am on the upper field. Please complete this form, by Friday, May 28, to let us know if your 8th grader will attend this year's live promotion ceremony.
Attendance is limited to 2 people per student. This is to ensure enough space for social distancing. Also, masks are mandatory for all those attending. Please read our promotion letter for more information.
8th Grade Picnic Tickets on Sale This Week
The 8th grade picnic will be on June 11, from 11am-2pm at MBMS. We will have games, food, yearbook signing and lots of fun!
Wristbands for the picnic will be available for pickup on Thursday, June 10th during lunch. Students must have a wristband to attend the picnic. The picnic is open to all 8th grade students, in person and virtual.
Picnic tickets will be on sale for virtual students in the office from 9am-2pm beginning Wednesday, May 26th. Wristbands will be given to virtual students at time of purchase.
Volunteers Needed for 8th Grade Picnic
We are very excited to celebrate our 8th graders at a picnic on Friday, June 11th!
Students will be attending the picnic from 11:00am-2:00pm.
We are asking for parents to volunteer to help with ticket sales during lunch and volunteers the day of the picnic for set up, food service, and games.

If you are a new Volunteer, please complete the following two forms Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Statement and email them to Crystal Wiederhold at cwiederhold@powayusd.com. She will also need a current TB Test Clearance scanned to her.

Donations for the 8th Grade Picnic
Meadowbrook is looking for donations of food for the 8th grade picnic. Donations will be accepted beginning Friday, June 4th. All donations should be dropped off in the front office (8am-2pm) by Wednesday, June 9th. Please sign up here!

Curbside Meal Distribution will be open for lunch pickup between 11:00am – 12:00pm. AM Meal pickup will continue to be 7:00am – 8:30am.

Bottled Water Donations Needed
Meadowbrook families, as the temperatures outside continue to rise and our students are actively involved in P.E., we are asking for any donations of cases of water. Our water bottle filling stations continue to be turned on, however many students are forgetting to bring water to school. We would like to be able to provide bottled water to students. Donations will be accepted at the front office from 8am – 3pm Monday – Friday. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Ribbon Leis for Promotion 2021
In Hawai’i it is a tradition to adorn graduates in leis to show love and pride for them and their accomplishments. The tradition has spread across the USA with parents adorning
their children, friends adorning their classmates and students presenting leis to special teachers.

Ribbon Lei prices will increase $5.00/lei after May 28, 2021. No exceptions. Please include $5.00 for each order after the deadline.

Yearbook!

Any remaining yearbooks after this date will be sold on a first come, first served basis for $55, cash only, while supplies last. If any are left, these yearbooks will be available for purchase at our distribution tables.
Yearbook distribution will take place for 8th Grade during the 8th Grade Picnic - Friday, June 11th from 11am-2pm and distribution for 7th Grade & 6th Grade will occur through PE classes on Monday/Tuesday, June 14-15.
Textbook & Chromebook Returns
Textbook & Chromebook Returns
For In Person students all Textbooks and Chromebooks will need to be returned thru student's Language Arts Classes June 14th thru June 17th please see the attached Schedule for specific days and times.
For Virtual Students (Textbooks and Library Books only) there are Book Returns located at the front of the school from 8:00am thru 3:00pm June 14th thru June 17th. If you are returning your Chromebook also that week, please ring the doorbell and give the chromebook to the office staff.
There will be Textbook and Chromebook walkup returns for all students June 18th from 11:00am - 3:00pm and June 21st from 8:00am -3:00pm
FREE ROBOTICS/STEM Summer Camp
2021 annual FREE Virtual Robotics/STEM Summer Camp on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. for 4th-8th graders. Attendance on Self- Sustained Learning (Asynchronous) Days
As a reminder, when students are working on self-sustained learning days, attendance is based on students logging onto Canvas. Students will be marked present when they log into each teacher’s Canvas class between the hours of 8:20am and 2:35pm. Students with 8th period have until 3:30 to log onto Canvas. As a parent, you can create a Canvas account and view each of your child’s classes. If you would like to check your child’s absence report in Parent Vue please watch this video.
