Eagles Exclamation
August 19, 2022
Eagle Families:
We have been working all summer to prepare for the return of our Prairie View Eagles. Teachers and paraeducators have participated in various staff development activities to enhance their knowledge and skill base. The building has been thoroughly cleaned and many of our classrooms have received flexible furniture to facilitate student engagement.
We are so excited for your student(s) to arrive for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 24th. Students will be able to enter the building at 8:35 AM. Our bell schedule runs from 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM. In the evening, we will host an Open House for parents only. Open House is from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Your student(s) will bring home a schedule that day.
The Prairie View staff is looking forward to a great year.
Regards,
Ms. Maura R. Baskovich
Transportation
Transportation information is available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portals. Please check here for your students pick up time and location.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedure
Arrival Procedures:
Please stop at the STOP sign and wait to be directed by staff to pull up. Buses will be leaving at the same time. Please pull ALL THE WAY FORWARD on the driveway.
Dismissal Procedures:
After buses leave, cars will be directed to come around to the front of the school and pull all the way forward in the driveway.
A Few Friendly Reminders:
- There is no left turn into the parking lot off of 175th street. (see picture above). Turning left backs up traffic and keeps buses from getting into the parking lot.
- When you turn into the parking lot, please form a single-file line on the arrows. Once you are in the parking lot, double lines can be formed. We ask that cars not block the far right lane so that buses can get into the driveway.
- Do not pull behind the buses at pick-up. Cars should not be in the driveway until the buses have left to avoid collisions with the buses.
- When dropping off and picking up, please pull forward as much as possible. When cars stop right in front of the building or do not pull all the way forward, fewer cars can load and leave. Your student will walk down to your car.
Thank you for your cooperation in this process. Following these procedures will hopefully allow for quicker and safer drop-off and pick-up of the students. Their safety is our biggest concern.
