William Wordsworth
William Wordsworth has to be one of the most iconic names associated with the Lake District. William Wordsworth was born in Cockermouth in the Lake District. He loved the area and the landscape deeply affected Wordsworth's imagination and gave him a love of nature. Every object in nature was in his eyes a source of poetry.
Wordsworth's most famous work is "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" (also commonly known as "Daffodils")
