Compare and Contrast
We did some more comparing and contrasting with stories in reading. We read different versions of "Three Billy Goats Gruff" and "Jack and the Beanstalk." We then voted on our favorite.
Going to the Zoo
However, the students will perform it tomorrow without an audience and the plan is to put in on video for all to see. I'm very bummed as it is a wonderful show and I am sure the students will be very sad.
I will keep you updated as to when all will be able to see it! Let me know if you have any questions.
Book Bags
What did we learn this week?
Writing: We continued writing our book reviews which include the title, opinion, and recommendation. Next week I hope to begin modeling how to write a story with a beginning, middle and end.
Phonics: We learned the poem "Oliver Twist" and the students found rhyming and HFW. We learned three digraphs; ch, sh, and th. We found different words with these sounds in them. We also continued working with blends.
Math: We continued our work with addition using different manipluatives and practiced reading different number sentences with the plus and minus sign.
