Academic Parent Teacher Teams (APTT) Family Night April 18 6pm
The school will host this year's second Academic Parent Teacher Team family night workshop on Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m. in your child's classroom. The purpose of this activity is for teachers to help parents understand their children's grade-level learning goals and to help them meet or exceed these goals. The most significant impact of these family nights is your child's learning. That said, we are making this event mandatory for parent(s) or guardian to attend all three scheduled for this year.
APTT 1 Meeting Thursday, April 18, 2024, 6:00 - 7:30 in your child's classroom.
The school will provide child care for students in TK-4th grade. (Movie night in PJs)

Counseling Partners of Los Angeles (CPLA)
Once again, the school will be offering a comprehensive school-based counseling program and support services at no additional cost for this service. Parents, teachers, staff, or students themselves can request to see a counselor. An informed consent form needs to be signed by the parent/guardian to begin the process. A signed informed consent form is NOT a request/referral for counseling. However, getting the parental signature ahead of time speeds up the process for our counselors to begin providing counseling to our students.
This service will begin on Monday, September 11.

Unexcused Absences Policy
Please plan vacation days accordingly so students do not miss crucial learning. The school cannot be held accountable for grades that reflect a student who misses school consistently.
Attendance: Under Archdiocesan policy, a student absent fifteen (15) or more days in a quarter will not be issued a report card and must attend summer school. If a child is absent more than thirty (30) or more days during the school year, he or she will be retained in the same grade because you still need to meet the requirements for your grade. The County Board of Education requires principals to report the severance of attendance by any student.
Cell Phone Policy
CELL PHONE /ELECTRONIC USE: Our Lady of the Rosary School recognizes the importance of communication and collaboration and provides iPads for students to be productive in the classroom. To keep the focus on academics and to reduce unnecessary distractions, the school enforces the following:
Cell phones, smartwatches, and all mobile devices shall be TURNED OFF when entering the school campus
Cell phones, smartwatches, and all mobile devices shall be kept in a student’s backpack or – not in clothing pockets or desks.
Texting and videotaping are not permitted anytime during the school day.
Cell phones, smartwatches, and all mobile devices are not allowed to be used in a classroom, library, common areas, or restrooms.
Cell phones, smartwatches, and all mobile devices can be turned back on at the end of the school day at 3:15 and used to communicate directly with parents/friends who are assisting in transportation.
Cell phones, smartwatches, and all mobile devices are not allowed to be used during transition times or between classes.
School staff may confiscate cell phones and smart watches at any time being used or not used.
School staff may collect all students’ cell phones and lock them at any time.
If a student needs to make an emergency call during the day, they must come to the office.
The following are the consequences:
First offense...Any phone/device in view and on-site will be confiscated, logged, and securely held in the school's office until the end of the school day and may be picked up by the student.
Second offense...Any phone/device will be taken to the front office, logged, and must be picked up by a parent/guardian.
Third offense...Any phone/device will be taken to the front office and logged, and a meeting will be set up. This may result in the device being left in the front office daily or kept for a month.
Noncompliance with applicable regulations may result in suspension or termination of privileges and other disciplinary action consistent with the Archdiocese’s policies.
Mass Attendance Card for Tk-8
To encourage school families, the staff, and parish families to celebrate Sunday Mass as a community, the school will send a Sunday Mass Attendance Card to all our students.
Our school community believes "We are one body, one body in Christ."
Our Lady of the Rosary School believes we are one in Christ because Jesus died for us on the cross for our salvation. Scripture Romans 12:4-5. For as in one body, we have many parts, and all the parts do not have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another. We are all part of Jesus Christ's body as a school community. Therefore, we must gather as one body, worship him, and receive His Body on Sundays.
