Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024
As you may already know, there will be a solar eclipse on the afternoon of April 8, 2024. The eclipse is scheduled to take place between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Out of an abundance of caution, students at TPES will not be permitted to view the eclipse. On April 8th, all classroom blinds facing the playground and/or bus loop will be closed to protect the vision of our students. Kindergarten recess will end at 1:55 p.m. to be sure the students are not outside when the eclipse occurs. Parents are welcome to sign their child/children out of school to view the eclipse. Special glasses are required to safely view the eclipse. For more information on how to safely view the eclipse, please use the link to access the Safety page of the NASA website.

On April 22, students will engage in a day of asynchronous learning. Additional information that is specific to each grade level will be provided soon. Each grade level will provide both a paper copy of the work, as well as an electronic copy that can be completed on the computer.
