Citing Evidence
Lesson Objectives
Introduction
If you are responding to a specific question, be sure your idea restates the question. Then, give supporting evidence from the text. What information in the text helped you answer the question?
Instruction
1. Locate the evidence in the text.
2. Rewrite the evidence in your own words.
3. Use a phrase or location to tell where you got the evidence. For example, "in the story, in the second paragraph, etc."
Please watch this video that helps to explain how to cite evidence.
Activity 1
Be sure to read the Dig Deeper (page 2) of the article and practice highlighting evidence that supports the idea that there is a misconception about how old the Earth really is. The Dig Deeper will help you to answer the Thought Question.
Assessment
A grade will be taken on your activity score and your thought question!
