Nominate a Teacher of the Year!

Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) is accepting nominations for the 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year through Friday, January 8, 2021. The nomination form can be completed and submitted on the WCPS website at: http://wcpsmd.com/teacher-year-nomination-form.
Parents, students, fellow educators, and community members are encouraged to submit nominations for Teacher of the Year. A Teacher of the Year candidate must be a full-time teacher who spends the majority of his or her time teaching students, have a minimum of five years of experience, and remain in a teaching position during the school year following his or her nomination.

Christine Hurley of Boonsboro Middle School was chosen as 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year and was named one of seven finalists from across the state in the Maryland Teacher of the Year program. This marks three consecutive years of WCPS having a finalist at the state level.
The Teacher of the Year program is a partnership between WCPS and the Washington County Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
