Grade 6 Art Students Celebrate Lunar New Year
Sixth grade artists were introduced to the visual culture and history surrounding the Lunar New Year, in honor of this beautiful celebration, taking place this year from February 12th to the 26th. They then looked at the work of contemporary artist Chris Chun. His recent series of illustrations feature the 12 animals of the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Being the year of the ox, students had the option to create a paper collage or digital design of an ox, using Mr. Chun's style as inspiration. Student examples attached are by Amber Chiang (digital) and Maya Kuryan (paper).

Foundation Update from Sarah Brodsky:
As we move into Tax Season, we invite you to learn more on how you can decrease your Tax Liability while investing in your school. If you own a business or work for a company in the state of Pennsylvania, now is the time to act. Through Education Tax Improvement Credit Program, businesses can donate up to $750,000 each year to EITC-eligible organizations, and then claim 75 percent of that donation as a credit that offsets their state tax bill.
