Elementary School MAP Testing
Monday, August 22, 2022 - Friday, September 2, 2022
August 22 through September 2, 2022, all NVLA elementary students will take an online assessment called MAP® Growth™ following the schedule below. Each school year in the Clark County School District, students in grades K-10 participate in MAP testing during fall, winter, and spring in the areas of reading and mathematics.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. When your child answers a question correctly, the test follows up with a more challenging question. When your child answers incorrectly, the test follows up with an easier question. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude while testing. For this reason, it is imperative that you allow your child to complete the test independently so that teachers get the most accurate student results.
We are truly excited to have an assessment that focuses on every child’s individual growth and achievement. Together, families and teachers can have a profound and positive effect on the lives of our children.
For more information on resources for parents/guardians including brief videos on the MAP assessment, visit https://www.nwea.org/parent-toolkit/.
Please see the testing schedule below.

Helpful Tips for Online Learning
NVLA does not use Google Classroom. Students access their coursework through Canvas. You can find Canvas by going to clever.ccsd.net and logging in with your school email, then choose Canvas.
Students can self-enroll at this URL: https://ccsd.instructure.com/enroll/8N936W. Alternatively, they can sign up at https://ccsd.instructure.com/register and use the following join code: 8N936W
Cookies Required Message
If you get the Cookies Required message when you log in to Canvas from Clever here are a couple of workarounds:
1. Look on the blue Canvas menu bar on the left side of your screen to see if there is a key with "Log in" under it. Click it and see if it logs you in. If not;
2. Look at the address bar and delete everything after the question (?) mark, then press enter, that should log you in.
Please submit a help ticket if this problem continues to occur.
