Meadowbrook Weekly Update
Week of January 9, 2022
Covid-19 Test Kit Distribution
Each kit contains two tests. Parents/Guardians may use the tests at their discretion as outlined below:
As a screening tool to ensure your child is healthy to continue to attend school, particularly if your child is not showing any symptoms; if the test is positive, notify your school and follow the guidelines here
If your child already has had a positive test, you may use one of the tests in the kit on or after Day 5 of isolation, as evidence of a negative result before being allowed to return to school. In an effort to maintain in-person learning, and address the lack of available testing appointments at local clinics, the at-home tests will be accepted as evidence of your child’s negative result.
If your child is quarantining as a close contact, the tests can also be used as evidence of a negative result. Follow the updated testing and quarantine guidelines here.
Any additional tests should be saved for if or when your child might experience symptoms or be named as a close contact to a positive case.
Counselors' Classroom Presentations:
Counselors are utilizing Second Step to provide instruction based on the latest research in adolescent development and social psychology. Lessons will begin with 8th grade in January and will focus on stres. February lessons will explore careers and colleges.

Save The Date! Meadowbook PTSA Association meeting!
The meeting will be held via Zoom, and details will be sent out to all Totem members via email. If you are a current PTSA member and NOT in Totem (i.e., you signed up via cash or check), please email hello@parliamentarypro.com and we will include you on the meeting invite.
Are you a good coordinator? The Meadowbrook PTSA needs your help!
We need help with the following volunteer roles:
VP of Fundraising - Contact some local restaurants and coordinate parent/student drop-in fundraisers about once every other month. We have a list to work from.
VP of Membership - Send out occasional emails and post on social media to bring in more members, and help advertise our district-wide membership competitions. Also works with our Treasurer to update members.
Are you a PTSA Member? Help us reach our mid-year goal of 300 members!
We are just shy of reaching our mid-year membership goal. Membership is only $11 each, and anyone can be a member (parent, student, family, relatives, friend, boss, anyone!). When you join our PTSA, you're helping us fund many important programs during the school year, including Cross Country, Book Fair, SAT Testing, and more. Joining can be done easily by using Totem (https://ronr.pro/mbms) or by filling out an application and dropping it with a check/cash in the PTSA dropbox in the office.
Meadowbrook PTSA has always had strong family support, and your membership is more valuable than ever before. Please join and let's see if we can blow past our membership goals for this year!
Would you like to be on the PTSA board next year?
Almost all of our current Meadowbrook board members will be moving on this spring, and we need strong PTA leaders for next year at Meadowbrook. Training and help is provided to all new board members. Please reach out to Sara Alsop, Volunteer Chair, at mbmsvolunteers@gmail.com with questions and interest. Thank you!
