NFHS Guidance, September 2017
Warming Up to a Great School Year
This year the guidance department will be having events to educate both parents and students on college, career, academic and social skills. Working with both students and parents allows us to assist students in reaching their potential. We hope all students will take advantage of at least one of our lunch groups, flex sessions or college information events. Continue reading to find out what we have planned.

Stay Focused
- What am I interested in?
- What are my strengths?
- What are some of my weaknesses I can work on?
- What are three or more careers I am interested in?
- Do I want to go to a two year trade/community college after high school?
- Do I want to attend a university after high school?
- What University or community college would best help me attain my career goal?
- What are the GPA requirements to gain admission to the schools that I am interested in attending after high school?
- What types of activities you want to be involved in,
- What classes you would like to take.
- What GPA you want to maintain.
Setting these goals, researching post-secondary schools, and sticking to a plan from your freshman year will allow for more doors to be open for you at the end of your senior year.
