Field Flash
November 17, 2023
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
As we head into Thanksgiving week, we want to say how grateful we are for your support and partnership. Working as a collaborative school-home team helps all your children, our students, to be more successful! We hope that you have a relaxing week with your family, and a happy Thanksgiving! We look forward to seeing children back on Monday, November 27th.
When your children return, please be sure that they bring the appropriate winter weather gear (snow pants, boots, warm coats, etc), as we do go outside for recess most days. Please be sure these items are labeled with your child's name. Also, please take a look at our calendar information below - the Book Fair just a week after we return from Thanksgiving break!
A few items:
Now that colder weather has arrived, please ensure your child is dressed for the weather. We are outside most days for recess.
Please be sure to follow the rules of the road during arrival and dismissal.
Please no dogs during arrival and dismissal.
We have two different winter clothing drives coming up. First, our student council is hosting a hat, scarf, and gloves drive the week of November 27th. All collected items will be donated to the Maine Township Family Resource Center. Starting December 4th, one of our Field Girl Scout Troops is hosting a coat drive. More information about that is below.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break.
Sincerely,
Dr. Courtney Goodman
Principal

Did you Know that Field School is Composting?
During lunch students have three choices for their food waste: landfill, recycle, and compost. Students can compost any food waste and paper products like napkins and compostable plates. Composting keeps valuable food scraps from going to a landfill where they take up space and create methane, a harmful greenhouse gas. Food waste that is diverted to compost creates no pollution, takes up no space, and can be turned into valuable fertilizer to grow more food. Thank you Mrs. McCabe and her Green Team of Students !

Students can hand carry their submission into:
1. Their teacher
2. Front Office
Or
3. Electronically at fieldschoolyearbook@gmail.com
DEADLINE = Wednesday Dec 20th!
Parents of 2nd Graders - Chromebooks
After Thanksgiving Break, our second grade students, districtwide, will begin to bring their chromebooks to and from school each day. Here's a few helpful tips:
- Keep the chromebook in the protective case
- Create a charging routine at home each night
- Keep the charger in a safe spot
- Create a morning checklist (backpack, chromebook, lunch, etc) to help remember the chromebook each day.
Trimester 1 Report Cards
All trimester 1 report cards will now be made available to view digitally this school year through the District’s parent portal! Instead of receiving a paper copy, parents will access their child’s report card at their own leisure and convenience. The trimester 1 report card will be available to view on December 1st at 8am. After viewing online, you will be asked to digitally sign off that you have viewed your child’s report card. To be sure you can access this report card, please follow these directions for how to login. We hope this will allow parents better access to their child’s educational achievement.
If you would still like to request a paper copy or are unsure of how to login, please contact the main office secretary or building principal for assistance prior to December 1st.
