NEW! AP Exam Timing
AP students will be given specific arrival times. Typically 7:30 in the morning and 11:30 in the afternoon.
Students are ONLY excused from class during their exams and are expected to attend the rest of the day.
Food services knows when students will test through lunch, and will hold lunches on those days to ensure all students have access to lunch.
IB Exam Schedules: IB students should have received their individualized exam schedule, a copy of this Answer Booklet Guide, and the Notice to Candidates with all of IB’s rules for testing. If they have not received this information and are testing this spring, they should check with their IB teacher and/or Mrs. Brown
AP Digital Exams
For students taking AP English Lang, AP English Lit, AP European History, AP Seminar, and/or AP US History be sure you are ready to take your exam digitally.
Just like the PSAT and SAT, students will take their AP exams on the College Board’s Blue Book app. Students will watch this readiness video in class Introduction to 2024 Digital AP Testing.
Once students have accessed the Blue Book app there will be preview questions and practice exams to familiarize them with the format.
If students have accommodated testing, the accommodations are provided within the Bluebook app.
If students have questions about digital exams, they should see Alaina Brown in the Student Services Office.
LATE TESTING: AP exams require a valid reason/approval for late testing. If you require late testing please complete this form. IB does not have alternate testing dates or times.
AP Exam Request and Cancellations
Students can no longer register and/or pay for May 2024 exams.
If students plan to cancel their exam(s) they should contact Alaina.Brown@novik12.org directly so that accurate rosters are created, however partial refunds are no longer available.
AP Micro and AP Macro students - 4-function calculators are allowed, but NOT required. Just like all other exams with calculators, you are expected to bring your own. We will have extras only as backup for devices that do not work, not to provide devices for students who forgot/didn’t bring them.
Dates are accurate, but specific timing and locations will not be shared until one to two weeks prior to exams. Locations will be emailed to students, shared with teachers, and posted in the Atrium.
Students electing to take AP or IB exams in April and May, may have to coordinate their own transportation as some exams may start before the school day and some may end after the end of it.
AP students must check the email address linked to their College Board account for important exam information from Novi High School and the College Board. This will include room locations and messages like the ones below.
The 2024 AP® Exam Terms and Conditions are available to review at cb.org/apexamterms. This agreement details the rules and policies students must follow related to taking the 2024 AP Exams.
Students will need to accept these terms and conditions prior to taking each exam.
Any updates to the terms and conditions will be clearly summarized on the terms and conditions page.
The College Board will send AP students email reminders to review these terms and conditions at cb.org/apexamterms before the exam administration.
Note: For AP courses with a portfolio submission (AP Seminar, and AP Research), students will need to agree to the Digital Portfolio AP Exam Terms and Conditions (.pdf/224 KB) before submitting their work as final in the AP Digital Portfolio.
New AP Daily: Practice Sessions will launch on April 22.
These short, 15-minute video sessions are led by experienced AP teachers, and focus on practicing and preparing to answer FRQs and multiple-choice questions on AP Exams.
AP Score Reports
As a reminder, students get one free score send each year they take an AP Exam, and their score report will include their AP scores from this year and any previous years. They were forced to choose where to send their score reports by April 10, but they have until June 20, 2024, to change their free score send selection.
Their official score report will be sent in July, and it will include scores for the AP Exams that they take this year as well as any past AP Exam scores.
AP scores are not recorded on high school transcripts.
IB Score Reports
Students taking IB exams should receive an email by April 24 with information on how to access their IB scores. They should save this email or forward it to their non-Novi email address to ensure that they can access their scores on July 6.
