District Attorney Matthew Weintraub Speaks to Freshman Class
This Wednesday, our 9th grade students had the opportunity to hear a presentation by Mr. Matthew Weintraub, Bucks County's District Attorney. Mr. Weintraub's presentation included information about the dangers of unprescribed medications, opioids, and heroin with a specific emphasis on how localized this problem has become. Local stories and videos were shared, along with strategies and solutions that students can use to make good decisions. This presentation was followed up by a Tiger's Eye discussion. We hope that students shared what they learned with their parents or guardians. Some important points to discuss are the stories shared, Bucks County's drug take-back program, Narcan, and what can be done for those who need help.
RoAR Movie Incentive Day!
To celebrate our RoAR before going home for Winter Break, students and staff enjoyed a special RoAR Movie Incentive Day. To warm up the audience, Mr. Brian Blair created an incredible movie preview of trailers created by our 9th Grade Advance Social Studies students on their C-SPAN Student Cam projects. Our featured film was Secretariat. Students were asked to look for instances of our learning motto IF-YET-TRUST throughout the movie. Any student who wants to enter a contest for a chance to win a free 2016-2017 TMS Yearbook can respond to an email from Mrs. Leatherbarrow asking for examples of IF, YET, and TRUST.
Freshman Baby Pictures
The Tamanend Middle School yearbook advisors will be collecting 9th grade baby pictures for the 2016-2017 yearbook. We are inviting you to include a memento in your child’s yearbook that he or she will remember forever. Submitting your student’s picture is a great way to honor your child in the yearbook at this special time in his or her life. The cost is $5. Submissions are due TODAY, December 23, 2016. If you would like to participate in this milestone experience, please CLICK HERE. NOTE: please save the picture as your child's name. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Kristen Littley.

How Did We Do This Week?
Throughout the year, Tamanend staff members look for examples of students showing Respect, Achievement, and Responsibility... R.oA.R. Those students are given "Tiger Tracks" tickets which students can enter into a drawing. Each Friday, Mr. Boyle draws one student's Tiger Track and announces the winner on our Tamanend Today Show. The winner can pick from a number of prizes including great coupons from Subway, Rita's, Randazzo's, Yogurt Tree, and Moe's!
The following students were recent weekly winners!
