Patriot Pulse
December 12th, 2022 Edition
Hello Grissom Families,
As Winter Break excitedly approaches, Grissom students continue to engage in their studies and meet the expectations of the "Positive Patriot". Please note that our last day of student attendance before break is Thursday, December 22nd. That day is a half-day dismissal at 12 PM for all students. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 10th.
In the meantime, Grissom students continue to involve themselves in amazing things in our school and community.
- Our fantastic Band and Chorus programs are in the midst of their winter concert seasons. The Chorus and Jazz Band put on terrific shows at the Tinley Park Holiday Market this past weekend. The Chorus and Symphonic Bands shined in their winter concerts this past week, and next week, it will be the Cadet and Jazz Bands' turns to do the same!
- Our late fall sports just finished up their seasons. Congratulations to all who participated in boys volleyball and girls basketball. Our winter sports will be getting underway shortly. Come out and support our boys basketball, girls volleyball, and cheerleading teams this Winter! See sports schedules here.
- Our D140 Special Olympics basketball players also recently kicked off their season. Good luck to our Special Olympic athletes!
- Our Student Council has been working diligently planning for the Winter Wonderland Dance, which will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, December 16th. Continue reading our newsletter for more details about the dance.
- Grissom students and families are always making a positive impact in our community. This past week, the Student Council sponsored a winter clothing drive benefitting Together We Cope, We received an abundance of donations towards the drive, and we greatly appreciate your continual support.
Keep reading the Pulse for more highlights and information.
With gratitude,
Mr. Michael Rumbaugh
Principal
