ATTENDANCE MATTERS. All day, Every day!
Ram Students and Parents!
Do you know how much attendance matters? Students that miss school miss out on multiple opportunities each day, have lower grades, and can become disconnected.
- Students with more than 3 absences per class period will not be able to exempt from thier exams this semester.
- Students that miss more than 9 days of any one class will have to complete make up time to avoid losing their course credit - even with passing grades.
- Students that receive unexcused absences will be placed on an Attendance Improvement Plan and could face truancy court.
Here are a few important reminders also!
- When students miss school for illness or appointments, documentation must be submitted to the attendance office within 3 school days to excuse the absence.
- When students miss class, it is their responsibility to talk with their teacher to get missed work.
- If a student comes late, they must sign in through the attendance office no matter what time they enter the building to avoid an unexcused absence and potential disciplinary consequences.
- If a student needs to leave early, they must sign out through attendance to avoid an unexcused absence and potential disciplinary consequences.
- MCHS is a closed campus - students may not leave campus for lunch. Students that do so will face disciplinary consequences and could potentially lose their parking privilege.

Class of 2022 Fun Food Day
The Class of 2022, has been given the opportunity to host a Fun Food Day on Friday, February 28th. Because of federal food guidelines, each campus is only able to host 6 Fun Food Days each year. On these days, we are able to sell candy, sodas, and fast food as a fundraiser. The food sold on these days do not have to meet nutritional guidelines. This is a great opportunity for our class to raise funds and our hope is to raise several thousand dollars on this day.
Our class is in need of support both with volunteers and donations. If you will be able to volunteer your time on Friday, February 28th for a morning shift (6:30-7:30) a lunch shift (10:00-12:00), or both, please email or call our amazing administrative assistant, Sarah Garduno. If you are able to donate sodas, Gatorade, candy, snacks, or work at a business that can donate hot food items, please use the same contact information for Mrs. Garduno. Mrs. Garduno can be reached at the following: SarahAGarduno@katyisd.org or 281-237-3571. The more we have donated, the better our profits will be.

Human Trafficking Awareness
Katy ISD Partners with AHA
Katy ISD and the American Heart Association, the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health, have partnered to build awareness around the dangers of vaping.
The number of teens who vape has more than doubled in just the past two years, to five million, according to the 2019 National Youth Tobacco Survey. More than one in four high school students report vaping.
In addition, e-cigarettes can contain unusually high levels of nicotine – in fact, one e-cigarette pod can contain as much nicotine as an entire pack of cigarettes. Youth who vape are particularly susceptible to nicotine addiction, which rewires the developing brain.
Help spread the word using Katy ISD’s hashtag: #QuitLyingAboutVaping and consider signing the AHA letter to hold Big Vape accountable.
