Student Artwork to be Displayed at "The Little Local"
In the art room with Mrs. Musella, the 1st grade students were able to develop their observational drawing skills by drawing a cactus plant. We discussed the idea of line repetition when creating patterns and identifying patterns found in nature. Congratulations to the following 1st grade students who will have their artwork on display at the coffee shop The Little Local, 519 Adams St. Hoboken.

A Window into Connors
When I was observing classes this week, it was so beautiful to see our students fully engaged in their learning. I was taking pictures and video clips which organically turned into this video montage that I am calling "A Window into Connors". If your child's class did not make it into this montage, I will have many more to come. The video makes me so proud of our students and teachers.
Passport to Learning-Sign Up is Open
The registration for PTL is now open for the spring semester. I would love to encourage you to sign up for the Tech for Success ELA reading program. So far the feedback from kids is...."It's Amazing!"....."I Love Reading"..."I am a Reader"! Our students are improving in their reading skills and it just makes me so proud. Enrollment is completely open, so please sign up so we can make sure that we have enough technology and staff to accommodate all of our students.

Learning about Martin Luther King Jr.
Students learned about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and read from his "I have a Dream" speech. Kindergartners in Ms. Rodriguez's class wrote their own dreams for the future. Ms. Fleischer's Kindergarten class wrote about how they were going to Let it Shine. Ms. Pinkas' class made hand flowers of friendship, peace and harmony. Ms. Ayers class is reading a different Martin Luther King Jr. book a day. In addition, the students are using the writing process to write a letter to Dr. MLK telling him why they are thankful for him.

Six Flags Read to Succeed
Read to Succeed is a FREE program that allows students in grades K-6 to earn tickets to Six Flags Great Adventure just by reading six hours for fun over the next few months. You should have received a flyer with a printed reading log and instruction sheet that has your child's homeroom teacher's name and teacher code. Your child can earn a free ticket to Six Flags by registering at sixflags.com/books, entering your homeroom teacher's code and then logging their reading hours. The Read to Succeed deadline is April 17th. If you need any assistance registering your child's reading hours on the six flags link, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher and they can assist you. The students are very excited about this and we couldn't be more happier to get them excited about reading!
