Rhyming
I even attempted to learn the song on the "ukulele". I borrowed one from our music teacher. I definitely need some more practice but the students were awesome encouraging me. We had some great laughs.
Non-Fiction Research
We used this book to find important words and sort our information under the themes above. The students had a lot of fun!
The students did a sorting activity that they will bring home today! They did an AMAZING job so make sure to ask them to explain why they sorted the pictures where they did.
Grandparents/Special Friends Day!
Pictures of your child and Grandparent/Special friend will be put into your child's SeeSaw account soon!
The above picture is a list of what each student loves about his/her grandparent/special friend.

Sub
If you could help remind your child on Sunday about showing Jackson Pride when there is a sub that would be fantastic! Thanks!
What did we learn this week?
Writing: I continued modeling the the writing process. (Think, Draw, Say and Test, Clap and Count, Write) The students are orally telling me their sentence by clapping and counting while stating the "Who" and "Did What?" This week the students started drawing lines for words in their sentences followed by beginning sounds in words.
Phonics: We continued practicing the sounds our zoo friends make and we also began learning "snap words." The words we learned this week were; with and see. We learned a new song called "Down By the Bay" where we continued to learn how to rhyme.
We also learned the poem "Hey Diddle Diddle." We continued our work with rhyming words.
Math: We began to subitize in math. Subitize is when you see a group of objects and can tell how many are in a group without counting 1 to 1. We did many activities using 5-Frames, Dots, and Dice. We also learned some cool new songs.
