Wear Red, White and Blue on Monday for Patriot's Day and Friday for Constitution Day
A message from the Principal-Mrs. Bookman
To our Suffield Family,
This week we welcomed our kindergarten students in smaller groups to school. They all did an excellent job and were so excited to be at school! On Monday, all kindergarteners will be at school! This does mean that some of our car rider lines will be much longer, so please have patience! We pride ourselves on how quickly we can get the line to move, but with the little ones just learning the ropes, it may slow it down a little.
A reminder to parents of car riders that if you're picking up your child and you see them at a cone, you should only stop at that cone if there is not a space in front of you. We want to have 6 cars at the cones at all times. We will move the student to you, so please just pull ahead. Stopping at the wrong cone slows the process. Please also keep your child's name card visible to the teachers at the cones so that they know who you are hoping to put into your car!! We can match kiddos to cars much easier when these name cards are left until you have your child in your car.
Next week we will celebrate Constitution Day on Friday. Students and staff are encouraged to wear Red, White, and Blue!
Enjoy the beautiful weekend!

CHILD FIND
Identification of Children with Disabilities
The Field Local School district is in the process of locating, evaluating, and identifying children from birth to age 21, residing in the district, who may be entitled to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), including special education and related aids and services, pursuant to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504).
Children eligible for FAPE under the IDEA are those with disabilities such as Autism,
Multiple Disabilities, Deaf-Blindness, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, Speech or Language Impairment, Orthopedic Impairment, Emotional Disturbance, Intellectual Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury or Specific Learning Disability.
Children eligible for FAPE under Section 504 include children who have a physical or
mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. If you know of a child who may have a disability or a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity, or if you would simply like additional information, please contact
Megan Longfellow, Director of Special Services at (330) 673-2659 or email her at megan.longfellow@fieldlocalschools.org
Birthday Treats
At this time, we will allow Birthday Treats to be brought to school. We are required to inform you of the Healthy Eating Guidelines (see below) and suggest that you use this when selecting a treat. Whatever you choose, please note that all treats brought to school for the purpose of sharing with others, need to be prepackaged so we are able to know and see the ingredients list. There are many students who have a variety of food allergies and having the ingredients listed helps the school nurse determine if a student with allergies can eat a particular treat.
