From the Desk of Charles LaClear
We enjoyed meeting all of the parents that came to Open House. We have scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences for October 11th, 4:00p-7:00pm. Remember, we encourage you to reach out to teachers early and often if you have concerns, below you will find a link to our faculty email list.
Homecoming week will be here before we know it. Below you will find Homecoming Week and Homecoming Dance information. Be in the know and be spirited.
Remind your students to power down and charge their Chromebooks each night. Our tech department often sends out updates and those are only received when they power on. Students should also bring their power cords to school with them.
Parents are encouraged to join their students Google Classrooms, ask your student for tech tips on how to you might go about doing that.
Be sure to update your email and sign up with your students class BAND, links can be found below.

SENIOR PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT
Senior year is a very exciting time for parents and seniors. It can also be very stressful as the next chapter is so uncertain. Senior Parent Information Night provides parents with some suggestions on how to navigate senior year and beyond. Please join us for food and information. Please RSVP for this important event.

Food Service INFORMATION
In place of the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application, we need your household to fill out and sign the Household Information Report (located in your schools’ office, C-A website or the Family Portal link below). This report is critical in determining the amount of money that our school receives from a variety of State and Federal supplemental programs like Title I A, At-risk (31a), Title II A, E- Rate, etc. These supplemental programs offer support and services to our students.
We are asking that you please complete and submit your Household Information Report by October 14, 2022, to ensure that additional funding for our school is available to meet the needs of our students. All information on the report submitted is confidential. Without your assistance in completing and returning the attached report, our school cannot maximize the use of available State and Federal funds.
For questions on the family portal call 877.383.3100 and press 1. There are also instructions available on the home page of the portal.
Supports for staff and families for English Language Learners
Did you know that we have translation services available to staff and parents for families and students whose primary mode of communication is a language other than English. It is also a legal requirement to communicate with families in their primary mode of communication. If you need to have a conference, share important information, or anything else, please contact the Student Support Services office for information on translations services at 810-591-6251.
SCHOOL SAFETY
AM drop off- If you are dropping off your student please use the front of the school. There are three lanes for you to use so that we can get as much traffic off of Linden Road as possible. Please pull up as far as you can in your lane. All three sets of doors are available in the AM for student to use. It is NOT required that you let your student out at the middle door.
Hoodies- Everyone loves a comfy hoody! Am I right? We allow students to wear a variety of hats, scarves, etc on their head but WE DO NOT ALLOW HOODIES TO BE WORN ON THEIR HEAD. A hoody limits visibility and makes it difficult for us to determine friend from foe. Please help us by reinforcing and supporting this important safety policy.
ID's to Enter- Carman-Ainsworth High School requires that ALL visitors show a proper ID upon entering and that visitors head directly to the Attendance/Campus Security Office.
PM Pick-Up- Our parking lot was not designed for 500-700 cars to pick up students and leave campus all within a 3.5 minute window. We have made some changes regarding procedures that prioritizes student safety first and foremost. It is important that everyone follow the procedure. When a half dozen parents "do their own thing", it causes confusion for everyone.
Please park in the Parent pick up (best to enter the drive way south of the HS and nearest the soccer field) this will keep you away from the Student Parking Lot, believe me, you will want to stay away from the Student Lot. Please see the Map below
