Spring break will begin on Monday, April 11th and students and will resume on Tuesday, April 19th.
The Atrium
The atrium in our school will need to be reimagined. We love the plants and trees but we can no longer have them at TPES. The space needs to be re-done because in the last year it has become infested or the home of rats, roaches and mice. Last month we found a large rat, the size of medium sized cat living in the atrium. We are not sure how the rat got in or if it was the only one but we are clear about the hazards and dangers of having rats in our school. The rat was the last incident but the rat's presence made it clear that we must do something different with the atrium space. Prior to the rat, there was and continues to be a roach infestation. Dr. Gadsden will be working with those who want to help reimagine the atrium space. A meeting for those interested will be scheduled in May. The change is expected to happen this summer while our building is closed for painting. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact Dr. Gadsden directly at Zadia_T_Gadsden@mcpsmd.org. Let's work together to make our beloved atrium a welcoming and inviting space for all.
Class Picture Day is Coming
Freed Photography will be returning to our school to take class pictures. Students will take pictures with their classes on April 21, 2022. If possible avoid scheduling appointments on that day so that your child doesn't miss taking pictures with their class. See the attached flyer for more information.
