Happy New Year, 2021!
Dear Eatonville Community,
Happy New Year 2021
What a year this will be! I am reminded of one of my favorite sayings
“If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement, and mystery of the world we live in.”
Rachel Carson
The year we move into has such mystery and hope and other emotions of uncertainty. This will be a year unlike any other from the start of January. We know that we have challenges in the future and the anticipation of a vaccine. We also know that our students are and must remain central to our mission. I am eagerly looking forward, learning from our past experiences and successes.
We will continue our plans for testing ( a newer PCR test) in January for staff and hopefully expend into February. We will continue our partnership with IPAC ( Infectious Prevention and Antimicrobial Consultants )and our Pierce County Health Department and local medical partners to keep safety and wellness in the forefront of our decisions and protocols. We will work with our leaders to implement next steps for learning.
This is the hardest work I have ever done in my 36 years of education and I know that all of you are experiencing this as well. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
May your month be filled with confidence, hope and that you remember how important your children and your family are in our district.
Happy New Year 2021

New Education Technology Lead Announcement
We are pleased to announce Travis Rush has been hired as the Teaching and Learning Department's new Education Technology Lead. In this role he will be supporting teachers with technology integration to enhance student learning.
Mr. Rush stated, "It is with a heavy heart that I leave the classroom but am excited about my new opportunity to lead the Eatonville School District Technology Education Program. With children of my own in the district, and many years living within the community, I look forward to continuing to make this the best place in Washington to educate, learn and grow. Looking forward, using technology and modernization only makes us better if we hold on to what already makes us great! I am excited to assist in this process!"
