PRAIRIE POST
September 22, 2017
Principal's Message
Did you know that Prairie Elementary is turning 50 this year??? Yes, Prairie has served as a staple in the community providing a safe, high academic, social, and emotional institution of learning for 50 years. This year we are going to celebrate Prairie's birthday on November 21st. I would like to have a team of scholars, parents, community members, and educators have their voices represented in the planning process. If you would like to be part of this group, please contact me (dgriffin@waukesha.k12.wi.us) or Vicki Anderson (vanderso@waukesha.k12.wi.us).
This year, Prairie is continuing to celebrate diversity by acknowledging the accomplishments of prominent men and women of Hispanic origin. Stay tuned to see how Prairie is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15th to October 15th.
On September 12th, we had our first PTA meeting of the year. Here is a link to the Principal's Report. The next PTA meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m.
Within the report, you will notice the changes that were made to the lunch hour, birthday treats/healthy treats, and open-toed shoes. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a PAWSOME weekend, and enjoy the summertime weather just a little while longer.
