PRAIRIE POST
December 16, 2016
Principal's Message
Hello Parents and Guardians,
The week has come to an end, and I for one appreciate the ability to go back to supporting my alma mater, Marquette University. Maybe you haven't heard, but I had to wear Wisconsin Badger gear the entire week because the Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Marquette Golden Eagles last week in the interstate rivalry game. It was brought to my attention that the Marquette Golden Eagles Women team defeated the Wisconsin Badgers Women team last week Saturday as well. The best part of the week was not the consistent amount of teasing I had to endure by scholars, educators, and PARENTS...it was the exposure that we were giving to our scholars about the possibilities that are in front of them. I did the morning announcements from Mr. Haynes' room (which is named after the Wisconsin Badgers) where a scholar provided a fact of the day about Wisconsin. It was great to see the scholars connect what they are doing now to their futures.
Report cards became available on Monday, December 12th on Infinite Campus. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your scholar's educator or the main office.
I want to thank all of the parents that came out to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade Winter Concert, Let It Snow. I cannot thank you enough for not allowing the cold weather to stop us from coming together and celebrating our scholars. It was a joyous occasion. We also want to thank Mrs. Wirth for how she has grown and developed the musical talents of our scholars.
Next week is our final four days before the Winter Break. We have exciting events lined up for our scholars that include but are not limited too: Educator Ugly Sweater Contest voted on by the scholars, PBIS all school Movie, Sing-A-Long, & Pajama Day Incentive. School will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.
The forecast shows that a snowstorm is on the horizon. Please be safe and stay warm this weekend. All district events are canceled this weekend and will hopefully be rescheduled in the future. If you are looking for a way to stay warm, I hear there is a Badger bonfire taking place this weekend :) Just Kidding. Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you bright and early Monday morning.
Together we will C.L.I.M.B. the Mountain of Success Together.

If they do not have boots and snowpants, they will need to stay on the blacktop for outdoor recess.

The "Giving Tree" will accept donations until Thursday, December 22nd. They will be delivered over break to the organizations. Student Council thanks you for your support and is wishing you "Happy Holidays!"
