2nd grade- Second grade is in the middle of their Pursuit of Passion project. Students will research a career of their choice based on a reflection about a career of their interest and ability. They will learn about the history of a chosen field of study and its current development. The students will be expected to select a career and gain an awareness of the importance of making a correlation between personal preferences and a career choice.
3rd grade- Third grade has been exploring the history of the local community and gaining awareness of ways in which people in the local community and other communities meet their needs for government, education, communication, transportation, and recreation. Students will compare and contrast a variety of urban and rural locations, and study how cities evolve over time. They will also examine how humans modify or adapt to their environment and how cities form around natural resources. Students will create their own Utopian City and include the population, logo and slogan for their city. Students have also been learning how to program their SPHERO. Here's a website where you can check it out - http://www.sphero.com/sphero
4th grade- Fourth grade is continuing to build their EV3 robots and explore Enigmas. Students will research and be able to report on the history and theories of how an enigma that they have chosen came to be. Students will understand how important investigation and inquiry is in explaining naturally occurring mysteries around the world.
Students will share their findings from their enigma and present it to the class by video, power point, poster or other source.
5th grade- Fifth grade is in the middle of researching colonies and creating a presentation to persuade other classmates to join their colony. Students have been encouraged to be creative when preparing their presentation or video to the class. Students are still building and programming their VEX robot. Here are a couple of the essential questions students will explore throughout this project.
Why did people migrate to Colonial America?

How did geography affect the colonization process?
Why did European countries want to establish colonies in America?
