PRAIRIE POST
December 2, 2016
Principal's Message
Hello Parents and Guardians,
We are now approaching that time of year when the weather begins to change and the snow will eventually fall. We are asking that all of our scholars wear warm coats, hats, and gloves to school. The snow has not begun to fall but the temperature has changed. We appreciate everyone's efforts to continue to have their children present at school at the beginning of our school day. The school day officially begins at 8:40 a.m. We are making a concerted effort to ensure that all of our scholars are here when the bell rings. Outside supervision begins at 8:20 a.m.
On Friday, December 9th, we will have our Pin Assembly. Continue to support our Read To Achieve Mountain Goal of reading 833,215 minutes for the year. Please support your scholar by having them read to you at night. Scholars can also record the time that you read to them. Finally, please make sure that you sign their reading log.
Prairie Scholars will be participating in the Hour of Code on Thursday, December 8th! The Hour of Code is a global movement by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries through a one-hour introduction to computer science and computer programming. Older classrooms with be paired up with younger grades to participate in this event together. Does your scholar want to keep learning? Does your scholar want to keep learning? Go beyond an hour
