PRAIRIE POST
November 18, 2016
Principal's Message
Thank you for your interest and engagement in your child’s progress this year. As you may be aware, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has released the 2015-16 state School Report Cards for all public schools in Wisconsin. Your involvement with your child is essential for their success, and we appreciate all you do to support our learning at school. I’m writing you today to share our results and vision regarding Prairie.
The Report Cards are intended to help all schools and districts utilize data on specific measures to target improvement efforts to ensure students are ready for the next educational step – including the next grade level, graduation, college, and careers. According to the data, we met expectations for the 2015-16 school year. We wanted to share this information with you.
We are proud of our accomplishments and the growth made by our scholars. However, we are eager to continue to grow as a school. So far this school year, we have been focused on using the continuums to demonstrate the growth of our scholars, analyzing data to drive instruction within our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and set instructional goals that align with student success on standardized assessments. This work will serve to increase student learning by allowing us to meet each scholar where they are and create opportunities to personalize their instruction and learning.
Parents and families are an important part of the educational process. We encourage your participation in our math and literacy nights, parent-teacher conferences, inquiring about the parent roadmaps, and district continuums.
Lastly, we are committed to providing an engaging, student-centered environment that fosters college and career readiness. We thank you for your continued support! The success of every child drives us each and every day. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that is inclusive of the academic, social, and emotional needs of the whole child.
You can access Prairie’s School Report Card here. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any further questions.
SIncerely,
Principal
