MCAULIFFE MESSENGER
Wednesday, October 11, 2023
October is here and the autumn leaves are painting our surroundings with beautiful warm hues! We are incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding work so far this year and we appreciate the support our dedicated and talented staff provides to our students. We look forward to continuing this positive momentum throughout the year!
We ask for your continued cooperation with arrival and dismissal routines. In the mornings, staff will not be on duty until 7:45 am. Please do not drop off students prior to this time since we will not have staff outside. Only buses will be allowed in the front drive for drop off (exceptions are made for those who have made prior arrangements with the office). If you are heading west on 174th St we ask that you do not use residential driveways to turn around. Please cross at the crosswalk and do not let children out of cars on 174th street, either park your car or join the drop off line. If you arrive after 7:55, you will need to sign your student in through the office. For dismissal, we encourage all drivers to follow the procedure designed by the Tinley Park Police Department and park your car in the pick up line. Images of arrival and dismissal are included below. Thank you for putting the safety of all McAuliffe students first!
We have a busy month planned and hope that you will participate in our school-sponsored events! We will celebrate Unity Day on October 18. Students can wear the color orange to show we are united in the fight against bullying. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated October 23-27. Our annual Halloween parade will take place on the 31st and will begin at 8:45 (weather permitting).
We would like to extend our gratitude to all parents, guardians, and community members for your ongoing support. Together, we create a nurturing environment for our students to thrive.
Sincerely,
Dr. Szczasny
