NEWS FROM GUIDANCE
PSAT Update
Following an incredible response from interested students and parents, PSAT registration closed early on Oct. 5th after all tickets were sold. Testing room assignments will be posted for test takers on the guidance hallway windows several days prior to the Saturday, Oct. 15th test date. Please remind students to arrive at CB West at 7:30am on Saturday, Oct 15th with two No. 2 pencils, an approved calculator, and student ID. Students should also review the "Test Day Checklist" posted on the College Board website, and go through the Student Guide and sample test questions prior to testing.
Financial Aid
We were grateful to have Ms. Bonnie Behm from Villanova University present at our District Financial Aid Night, held on 10/5/16. If you were unable to attend, you may view/download her presentation, which is posted on the Financial Aid Page of the Guidance Website.
If you are looking for more guidance on filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), you may wish to attend the FAFSA Overview Presentation to be held on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:30 PM at CB EAST (Auditorium). The presenter will review specific information on filling out the FAFSA, including screenshots and explanations for unique circumstances. Senior parents and students are welcome to attend.
College Update
All students with a November 1 college application deadline must submit their Transcript Request Forms to the Guidance office by Monday, October 10th. Please refer to the College Application Process page for information and upcoming deadlines.
Our College Visits are continuing in Guidance, with up to four colleges visiting CBW every day. Please register in Naviance to attend these informative visits.

INFORMATION FROM KEY CLUB
Key Club will be partnering with Habitat for Humanity to host a collection drive on October 15th from 10am – 2pm. We will be collecting houseware items to be sold at the ReStore. Please bring any extra houseware items to the parking lot at War Memorial Field between 10 am and 2 pm. Below is a list of acceptable items.
Wood Furniture, Exterior Doors, Upholstered Furniture, Lumber – Construction Length, Housewares/Kitchenware and Home Décor, Flooring – tile, laminate and hardwoods, Clothing and Linens, Roofing materials and siding, Books, Plumbing – sinks and toilets, Electronics, Lighting – commercial and residential, Exercise and Sports Equipment, Landscaping and mason materials, Cabinets – Kitchen and Bathroom Vanities, Tools – power and hand , Appliances – working OR Non-working, Paint – ONLY FULL CANS WITH COLOR CLEARLY MARKED, Building Materials, Windows, Interior Doors – Paneled

JV at 5:00 - Varsity at 7:00
We will start the game with a ceremony before the varsity game at 6:45.
All Proceeds will be donated to support breast cancer patients at the Doylestown Hospital Health Cancer Institute.
This is the 3rd annual fundraiser for Breast Cancer awareness. Please make a donation. Last year we raised $3,700 for Doylestown Hospital Cancer. We'll have Pizza and Hot Dogs available.
We will be raffling three baskets:
-Eagles Game
-Flyers Games
-Restaurants Gift Cards.
The Bridge Fund provides financial assistance to patients who are un-insured and under-insured. The program also helps provide medication, as well as, purchase wigs for local cancer patients.
Chipotle Fundraisers
Show your team spirit by joining us for fundraisers to support the Central Bucks High School Boys' Lacrosse and Central Bucks High School Girls' Soccer teams. Both fundraisers take place at the Chipotle at 569 N. Main Street in Doylestown. Tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the team!

Future Business Leaders of America Club
The Future Business Leaders of America Club is well on its way! Since our initial meeting on September 21st, fifty four students have joined the club. These future business leaders are busy preparing for their regional competition which will take place the week of November 28th. Good luck FBLA members!
Delaware Valley Science Council
The Delaware Valley Science Council is pleased to announce its 69th annual science talent search for high school seniors. This program identifies and recognizes the area’s best science students, as they compete for cash awards sponsored by area science professional societies and corporations. The two-phase program begins with students taking two hour-long exams from their choice of Biology, Chemistry, Math and Physics on October 15th at Villanova University. From there, students are selected for interviews by two teams of area scientists on a Saturday morning in January to identify finalists and cash award winners. Please join us in congratulating the following seniors who will be representing Central Bucks High School West at this event:
