COMMON COVID QUESTIONS AT COOLEY
What should I do if my child tests positive for Covid?
Call the front office at 337-217-4680 during school hours or email emily.alcock@cpsb.org and barbara.lawrence@cpsb.org with the symptom start date and date of the positive test.
What should I do if someone in our home tests positive for Covid OR if I know my child was in contact with someone in the community that tested positive for Covid?
Students that are in contact with a positive case outside of school will be required to quarantine at home prior to returning to school. Again, call the front office or email emily.alcock@cpsb.org and barbara.lawrence@cpsb.org with the symptom start date of the person who is positive. Please include whether your student can isolate from the positive case or if they will be sharing common spaces in the household.
How will I know if my child is a direct contact of a Covid case at school?
An email is sent to all T.S. Cooley families on the date that a positive case was on our campus. You will receive a personal phone call from a member of our office staff if your child was in direct contact with the positive case. Next steps for your student will be shared at the time of the phone call.
I notified the office that my child would be missing school because they were Covid positive or had been in contact with a positive case. How will I know when my child can return?
We appreciate your patience with communication on return dates. A member of the office staff will email or call you prior to the date of your child's return. Teachers are collecting work for students that will be absent. Work can be picked up by driving through our front circle drive during school hours.
How can I help keep our Cooley community healthy?
Please screen students at home each morning. Students that are feeling ill should not report to school. Don't forget to send a water bottle with your child daily. Masks are still required for all bus riders.
