Test Monitors Needed
Test Monitors Needed
This year all DCIS students will be taking the online format for state testing. The testing window opens April 20th and we will be in need of some monitors to help us out with both 5th and 6th grades. If you are able to proctor at least one day it would be greatly appreciated. The following dates for help is needed:
MONDAY 4/20, TUESDAY, 4/21, WEDNESDAY 4/22, THURSDAY 4/23, MONDAY 4/27, TUESDAY 4/28, WEDNESDAY 4/29, THURSDAY 4/30, MONDAY 5/4, TUESDAY 5/5, WEDNESDAY 5/6, AND THURSDAY 5/7
The state department does not allow family members to monitor in the same classroom as their student. You will see on the sign up that only grade and team are listed. We will ensure that family members are not placed in the same classroom as their student.
Once you sign up you will be sent a detailed email about your proctoring responsibilities. The email will be sent right before or after spring break as we get closer to testing. Thank you in advance to all of our parents/community friends available and willing to volunteer their time.:)
If you have any questions please contact Mandy Hayward at mandyhayward@dcsok.org or call 531-9385.

Online Registration and Enrollment Information
1. 2020-2021 Online Registration (OLR) for Deer Creek Students
a. The only OLR open currently is for those who were selected and notified that their student was chosen in the lottery for 2020-2021 Pre-K. The only successfull way to access the Pre-K OLR is via the link that was emailed on Friday, January 31, 2020.
b. It is imperative that no other students enter the OLR system at this time as it could cause an issue with your 2020-2021 enrollment/registration for next year in Infinite Campus. If you have a Pre-K student who was chosen in the lottery to enroll and also have an older child, please do not enter the Pre-K student's registration in the OLR link that resides in the Infinite Campus parent portal or the system will block future registrations. Again, please only use the link that was provided in the email.
c. OLR for students who are currently enrolled in Deer Creek and plan on attending Deer Creek next year will open Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
d. OLR for students K-12 who are not current students and will be new to Deer Creek will open on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
Please Note: OLR and Enrollment are two different programs but are both required for a student to attend Deer Creek.
Enrollment is for students 6th-11th grade and allows them to make their course selections.
OLR is the Online Registration in Infinite Campus that will open on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 and is required for all students returning to Deer Creek for the 2020-2021 school year. OLR allows you to provide and confirm all student information and demographics. OLR will be due for students returning to Deer Creek prior to May 20, 2020 (last day of school) in order for a student to receive a teacher assignment or class schedule for the 2020-2021 school year.
NEW DEER CREEK COMMUNICATION PLATFORM
Deer Creek School District is embarking on a new communication platform to include a Deer Creek App that is designed to enable parents, staff and students to stay informed and up-to-date on events, important issues, general information, emergency notifications and site based activities. The Deer Creek App will work conjointly with the SchoolMessenger App (registration only required one time) as a notification system. Once a parent has registered with the SchoolMessenger App, they will only need to use the Deer Creek App for all things Deer Creek!
Deer Creek App & SchoolMessenger FAQ'S
1. Do I need to download both apps?
Yes, both apps need to be downloaded. Parents must register in SchoolMessenger then they will only need to use the Deer Creek App for all of their Deer Creek needs.
2. How do I check what information (primary email and phone) is in Infinite Campus?
You may check your parent portal to review the information you put in when your registered your student(s).
3. If I have checked my information and it appears correctly yet I am still having a problem registering, what is my next step?
- Parents must enter their primary phone or email address they listed in I.C.
- Parents primary phone and email cannot be marked “private” or SchoolMessenger will not be able to pull the data.
- If primary phone or email is marked private, email your school site secretary to request that it be changed in Infinite Campus
- Allow 24 hours once the change has been made for the system to update.
- Contact deercreek@dcsok.org for additional questions.
4. What will this app be used for?
The Deer Creek app working conjointly with SchoolMessenger will take the place of the following apps that have been used in the past:
- SchoolWay (effective immediately)
- Remind (effective June 30, 2019)
- Campus Portal (effective once a parent has downloaded the Deer Creek App)
The goal for a Deer Creek app was to take every app and platform being used and combine it into one app for the ease of communication. District and Site information, events, school closings and emergency messages will be pushed out via our new platform.
DCIS Comfort Closet
DCIS will be creating a Comfort Closet for students that need basic items that are listed below. Any donations of these new items would be greatly appreciated. All items can be delivered to Mrs. Hayward’s office.

STUDENT INSURANCE:
The Deer Creek School District has made arrangements to offer Student Accident Insurance for all students from K&K Insurance Group. We make this coverage available to parents for their children who are students enrolled in our schools. The Deer Creek School District does not provide insurance coverage or medical reimbursements to parents for injuries that occur during school, including those incurred during gym classes, recess, etc. While this coverage is optional, it is important that you review the coverage options available to you and consider purchasing this coverage, especially if your family has health insurance with a high co-payment for doctor and emergency visits, or a high-deductible plan, etc. You may find more information regarding Student Accident Insurance on the Deer Creek School District Website.
PUBLIC NOTICE OF NONDISCRIMINATION:
The Deer Creek School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin, alienage, ancestry, religion or religious creed, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, age, disability or handicap, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law.
