Parents - please be aware
Home - Virtual Learning: If a student can not be at school for any length of time due to illness or family business, you should have their assigned chrome book at home so they can do virtual learning as attendance will still be counted. The teachers have a Google classroom or at home learning site set up and the students have been taught how to access and work virtually. If you have any questions, please contact your teacher.
Internet Access at Home: The district will not be able to supply hot spots to families this year; however, they are included in the FCC program to help families with internet service. We have checked out the list of options and there are several options under or at the $50 per month. So free internet for this school year is at your fingertips so check it out. (Even if your student will not have to do virtual learning this year - you can get internet access).
Emergency Broadband Benefit: The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible households can access the Emergency Broadband Benefit that provides a discount up to $50 per month toward broadband service. Learn more about the Emergency Broadband Benefit.
Lost and Found Items
All students will walk by them going into lunch each day, they will always be displayed while students are on the playground, and families will be able to come after hours and on the weekends to look for lost items.
We hope this will alleviate the amount of lost and found items we have each year.
Bikes - - skateboards - - scooters
Scooters and Skateboards: We have lock up stations available for them outside. They are NOT allowed into the building, thank you. You may also bring a lock to lock up your skateboard or scooter.
NEW- Bus Tracker App Available

Parking and Dropping off Students
Please remember these few items of safety:
- Campus does not open until 8:30 - do NOT drop off or walk here before then.
- We apologize that due to the small parking lot we do have - No parent cars are allowed in the parking lot- it is reserved for school buses.
- Pick up and drop off on Latah- coordinate with your student, the perfect spot that works for you.
- Use crosswalks- both on Latah and in the parking lot. Do NOT cross in-between parked cars.
Thanks again for helping to keep our students safe

Birthday Celebrations this year
- All treats must be individually wrapped. For example, no containers of cupcakes
- No homemade treats.
- Try to stay away from sweet treats.
- Look for healthier options (crackers, trinket toys, juice boxes) stuff like that.
We want to follow cleanliness guidelines and also start getting away from so much sugar during the school day. For specific questions and coordination, please contact your students teacher.
Make sure to have your big celebrations at home with friends and family because everyone should be able to celebrate their special day.
Social Worker Support Groups offered
Alicia Juarez, LCSW- your school social worker will be offering:
New Support Group
This year I will facilitate a group for students called SSET: Support for Students Exposed to Trauma. This group is for 5th and 6th graders only. The group is 45 minutes a week for eight- ten weeks and has a structured curriculum that helps students identify ways to decrease symptoms of post- traumatic stress, depression, or general anxiety and improve functioning at school, home, and with friends. If you have questions or would like me to screen your child to participate, please contact me. Groups will start the third week of September.
