Safety Drills
Throughout the year we will continue to practice safety drills to ensure that our students and staff are prepared in the event of an emergency.
Media Center News
This week Blue Ash Elementary had a wonderful time with Eric Litwin! If you ordered a signed copy of his new book Groovy Joe it will be delivered to your child Monday. Thanks so much for supporting this special opportunity for our students!
Starting next Friday, September 30th, library reports for missing books will be sent home. It will help you stay aware of what books your child may need to find. There are often questions over missing books and many times they are at school in students' desks. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns over a book please write them on the form and return it to school with your child. Reports will be sent home every Friday regardless of what day your child comes to the media center. Thanks for helping to keep our library running smoothly!
Haunted Fest
It is time for Blue Ash Elementary’s annual Haunted Festival and we invite you to volunteer! This event is the PTO's largest family fun night of the year. We are asking you to support the Haunted Festival because the monies raised go directly to the classrooms and the school. We would love for you to work one shift such as running a game or selling food. We need 300 volunteers to make this festival run smoothly! Adults and children in 5th grade or higher are welcome as volunteers. If you have a religious group, Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop, or are a student looking for service hours, we can provide a certificate for all hours worked.
We are using the online signup again this year. You can choose the shift and assignment you want and you may select to work with a friend. You may also sign up to donate cakes for the cupcake walk, individually wrapped baked goods & bags of individually wrapped candy (used as consolation prize for games).
Here's how it works:
1. Click on the link below, it will take you to Signup Genius http://tinyurl.com/BAEHF2016
2. Once it the web page loads (may take a few moments), select the shift and task/game you would like to work.
3. You will receive a reminder email the week of the festival.
We strongly encourage volunteers to use the website but if you have limited internet access and/or specific questions you may e-mail Debbie Flinchpaugh-Kirby baevolunteers@gmail.com.
Blue Ash bash friday night!
Due to attendance the Beach Bash will take place during ONE SESSION from 6-8 pm on Friday September 23rd. This will allow for the entire Blue Ash Family to all be together at one time! We will have a list to check families at the door. No tickets are needed. We are still able to welcome walk-ins if you haven't signed up, $10 per person. We look forward to seeing you!
The Blue Ash Beach Bash fundraiser is to raise funds for two very special staff members who are battling cancer. Mrs. Stephanie Jones (1st grade) and Mr. Rolfes (custodian).
At the bash we will have a great DJ, dancing, food, and prizes!
Tickets to the bash are $10 per person…..and to make things just a little more interesting, Mrs. Combs will allow all students who participate in the fundraising to tape her to a wall of the school! Each student who brings in a donation or purchases tickets will be given a strip of duct tape to tape her up! The more that donate, the better chance we have of getting her to stick there for a while!!
Thank you to those who have already purchased tickets or made a general donation - we will get your tape ready!!

Vision and Hearing sign up
Every year BAE hold vision and hearing screenings for the children. This year children in kindergarten, first grade, 3rd grade and all new students to the district will have their vision and hearing tested. Screenings will be on October 5, October 7 and October 9. The times are 9:30-11:30 and 1-3 each day. Volunteers will help escort children to and from class, wait with the children to go into the testing room, and to help the children move from one room to another. The screenings are held in the UC Blue Ash wing. This is a great way to volunteer and to meet other parents. To volunteer, please follow the link below. Thank you!
