What IS Epic! Books?
Epic is an online database that has THOUSANDS of fiction and non-fiction books, audio-books, educational videos, and read-to-me books for children 12 and under. Teachers can also create their own questions on the books read, as well as create assignments for the class inside of the Epic! site. Teachers create their own profile and add students into their profile. Epic! Books can work alongside google classroom.

How is Epic! used in the Classroom?
- Perform experiments using ideas in Epic!’s STEM books- Epic! has lots of science books that can be used as student and teaching resources.
- Compare two books by the same author- Have students create an author study and compare the themes, topics, and art in the two books read.
Use non-fiction books for research projects,
such as reports on animals- Students can easily search Epic!, or a teacher can create a collection of books to use readily.

Epic! can be used as an app on smart phones, tablets, and iPads, as well as on the computer!

- Expose students to different expressions and intonations using Read-to-Me books- Have students understand and practice expression by using Epic!
- Create book commercials using multimedia tools such as iMovie, Telestory, or ChatterPix- Have students read different books in groups and develop commercials to show off how awesome their book was to the rest of the class!
- Students create book reviews and recommend them to classmates- Have students develop flyers on their favorite books and have them present 'book talks' within groups of students.
