A Message from the Principal
After our first full week together two things are beginning to stand out. I am impressed with how well the students listen and treat each other. As I have interacted with students throughout the building, I am met with warm smiles and polite manners. Kudos to the parents for instilling these values in your children; they display them even when you're not around!
I have also had the opportunity to spend time with the staff during planning and instructional delivery in class. This school district is amazing and the adults that lead your children on a daily basis are what make it so great. The ability of our teachers to provide a nurturing classroom climate with a focused instructional approach is the combination for success! I can't wait to see what comes next.
With the Warmest Regards,
Matthew A. Tudor

10th Annual PTO Walk-A-Thon!
Our 10th Annual Walk-A-Thon will take place during the school day on Thursday, September 22nd, rain or shine. The Walk-A-Thon is an exciting opportunity for students to raise money to benefit our school, simply by enjoying a walk on the school track with their friends and teachers! Students will collect pledges from family members and friends in the weeks leading up to the Walk-A-Thon, with a promise to walk at least one mile as a thank you for their support. Students will have the chance to earn prizes based on the pledges that they collect, including gift cards, gift baskets, and more!
The Walk-A-Thon is one of our leading fundraisers, and all of the money collected goes directly back to our students and staff at EH Greene. Last year, the Walk-A-Thon raised over $20,000, and we would love to reach $20,000 in 2016!! Please consider supporting this great cause by sponsoring your child and seeking the support of those around you. If you are interested in volunteering to help with Walkathon, please email Carrie Dippold: cdippold@yahoo.com, or Diane VanderBrink: dvanderbrink@yahoo.com. Additional information and pledge envelopes will be coming home with students in the Green Envelopes on September 8th.
Also we will be giving back to our local community by collecting GENTLY used adult and kid shoes (*no cleats or dance shoes*) to Cincinnati's Freestore FoodBank 'Back on Track' program. A shoe collection bin will be in the school entrance starting September 8th.
Be a Part of the Author Visit!
Author Visit Committee is pleased to announce that Margaret Peterson Haddix will be coming to spend the day with our students in February. In the months leading up to this visit we will conduct a student contest encouraging reading of the author's books in order to make her visit more meaningful. We are eager to roll out the contest and are in need of parents wanting to help in this way. We also need a promotion sub-chair. If you are interested please contact Mary Tyler, mtyler3707@gmail.com 513-417-0275.!
Greene Machine Clinic and Auditions
Greene Machine will hold one clinic Tuesday, September 6th after school until 4:00 pm. Auditions will take place on Wednesday, September 7th until 6:00 pm. Students auditioning will sign up for a time next to the choir room door (room 66) and each audition will last no longer than 10 minutes. Students selected will begin rehearsals Monday, September 12th and will meet every Monday and Thursday.
