National School Counseling Week Last Week
We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to celebrate our amazing counseling staff last week. Please make sure to extend a huge thank you to Jill Morgan, Kat Kaderabek, Gianna Febbraro and Jennifer Vasquez for all they do to support our students and school as a whole! We recently were able to add another counselor to our staff, who is funded through a state grant, which has been an extremely valuable addition to our staff. Please also extend a warm welcome to KJ Tousley, who will be focusing on our seniors.

Student Spotlight
Administration would like to extend a thank-you to our students for picking up their trash and supporting our staff by helping to keep our campus clean during lunches. It is not an easy feat to feed 1200+ students at a time, while maintaining a tidy environment. However, we have seen an increase of students picking up after themselves and even helping to pick up after others, which is resulting in our campus and lunchroom being free of trash. Thank you, students. Keep up the great job!!!

RUHS Band Highlights
January was very successful for our band program, as we pushed into the new year overcoming obstacles last semester. Thank you so much to those who attended our Winter Concert on January 23rd. Here are some updates, as various different ensembles in our program have events this month!
Many of our students were able to perform in the ABODA All-State Jazz Festival from January 30th - February 1st. On top of that, a large portion of our students auditioned for AMEA All-Region Festival, and will be performing on February 17th!
We are eager to hear the results of our Winter Guard and Winter Drumline’s first competition that took place Saturday!
On February 20th, Catalina High Magnet School will be hosting Giant Steps. Giant Steps will have a silent auction and will have our Jazz program playing with guest performer: Morani Sanders! More information is coming.
Our band program accomplishes a lot each month! Thank you to those who attended our Winter Concert, and we hope to see continued support throughout the school year!
