Eagles Exclamation
August 28, 2023
Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
- There is NO LEFT TURN into the parking lot off of 175th street. (see map above; click to enlarge). Turning left backs up traffic and keeps buses from getting into the parking lot. You can also receive a police citation for turning left.
- When you turn into the parking lot, please form a single-file line on the arrows. Once you are in the parking lot, double lines can be formed. We ask that cars not block the far right lane so that buses can get into the driveway.
-------------------------------------
- Do not pull behind the buses at pick-up. Cars should not be in the driveway until the buses have left to avoid collisions with the buses (see map above; click to enlarge).
- When dropping off and picking up, please pull forward as much as possible. When cars stop right in front of the building or do not pull all the way forward, fewer cars can load and leave. Your student will walk down to your car.
-------------------------------------
We would like to kindly remind parents not to block driveways, mailboxes, or fire hydrants near Raintree Rd and Valley Dr (see map above; click to enlarge). This cul-de-sac is NOT a designated pickup area. Our neighbors feel inconvenienced due to their driveways being blocked and we feel concerned for students' safety if the sidewalks are being blocked. Residents need to be able to get in and out of their own homes and students need to be able to get home safely. The neighbors have recently contacted the TP Police Department regarding these concerns.
-----------------------------------------------
Thank you for your cooperation in this process.
Following these procedures will hopefully allow for a
quicker and safer drop-off and pick-up of the students.
Their safety is our biggest concern.
MAP Testing
All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will participate in MAP Testing on Wednesday, August 30th for Reading and Thursday, August 31st for Math. Students will test for the first three periods of the day. Student Lunch periods will remain the same. Over the course of the two days, students will attend all their classes. Teachers will provide students with a copy of the schedule for the two days.
Please remind your students to fully charge their iPads, get a good night's sleep and eat breakfast. This is the first benchmark of the year for our students, and we want them to do well.
Day 1, August 30th
-------------------------------------
Day 2, August 31st
Student Support
Begins Tuesday, September 5
Student Support is an opportunity for students to come into the building early or stay after school hours to work on homework or class projects. Paraeducators are available to help students when they have a question about an assignment. NJHS students will sometimes be available to help as well.
Students are expected to follow the posted expectation for Student Support, as well as all school rules. Students will sign up via a Google Form prior to staying for after-school support. If students are taking the Activity Bus, they will sign up outside the office.
Student Support Hours:
AM Support: 8:00 am - 8:40 am
Students will be dismissed to go to their locker before 1st period begins.
PM Support: 3:15 pm - 4:05 pm
If you are picking your student up, please pull up on the right side of the driveway.
Activity Bus
Begins Tuesday, September 5
If your student is staying after for any activity that ends at 4:00pm, they can take the Activity Bus home. The buses do not stop at every bus stop, but they stop reasonably close so students may have to walk a bit further than usual. A map/list of the stop locations is posted outside the office and can be accessed by clicking HERE. Students should sign up to take the bus on their team page or scan the QR Code located outside the Main Office window.
