Mrs. Phillips' Weekly Updates
Week 7 of Fourth Grade
Book Fair!
Beverly's fall Book Fair will be held the week of October 1st-5th. Next Thursday, we will go to our Book Fair Preview. The kiddos will bring home a "wish list" that night that they created during the preview.
Also, our wonderful PTA is hosting a Movie Night in the Cafeteria on Friday, September 28th at 6:30. The Book Fair will be open prior to Movie Night beginning at 6 pm for some "Early Bird Shopping". We would love for you to come out and enjoy a movie and do some shopping!
Help Please!
Thursdays and Fridays are the days we usually need the most help! If you're interested in helping us out, (even offering to take this home to cut and create!) please let me know. We appreciate it!

Students Thinking of Peers
***THESE APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NEXT TUESDAY!!**
What is STOP? Students Thinking of Peers is a PTA sponsored organization meant to encourage our older students of Beverly Elementary to become positive influences in the community. At the school level, students are expected to be good role models to their peers and younger students in the school by being respectful, courteous and friendly. In the local community, STOP students participate in outreach programs to learn how to help others, such as a coat and toy drives, making and mailing cards/gifts for troops, collecting supplies and visiting the SPCA.
Who can participate? STOP is open to all students in the fourth and fifth grades. They must fill out an application with one adult recommendation and maintain an "S" or "E" in all citizenship areas. If they turn in an application, they are part of the group. The application can be found HERE or downloaded at www.beverlypta.com/stop. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE IN SCHOOL ON SEPT 25TH, 2018.
What is the time commitment? STOP has meetings once a month; this year they will be held on Wednesdays after school, usually from 2:45 until 3:30, but times may vary by activity. Some of the meetings are held in the school cafeteria and some will be deliveries of goods we collect for agencies (the coat drive for instance). Though attendance at every meeting is not mandatory, we strongly encourage regular attendance so the students can get as much out of the experience as possible.
Is there parent involvement? We do need parent participation to help at meetings and for the trips outside Beverly Elementary, such as the coat drive or SPCA drive deliveries.
