Author Study-Mo Willems
This week we began a two week author study on Mo Willems. We read many of the "Pigeon" and "Elephant and Piggy" books. We talked about different characteristics in these books.

What did we learn this week?
Writing: I continued modeling how to write two sentences with two pictures and how to give details to your story. We talked about feelings we can have in our stories. The students are continuing to post on SeeSaw and doing a great job!
Phonics: We learned the "This Old Man" and the students found rhyming and HFW. We continued to work on Consonant, Vowel, Consonant words (CVC words). We learned two new high frequency words; "here," and "this." We also learned about the -og word family.
Math: This week in math we talked about subtraction to 5. We talked about different kinds of words we use in subtraction as well.
