Whangarei Boys' High School - Term 3 Edition 2 2018
Rugby, Exams and Te Wiki o te Reo Māori
It's hard to believe, we are at the end of Term 3! Just where has the time gone??? After North winning the annual North v South rugby contest, the Boarders v Day Boys was the next encounter. Although it was a competitive game, in the end, the Day Boys took it out. Next year, though, we will get the trophy back!!!
Seniors have now completed their mock exams and know where to improve now for their NCEA Examinations. Good luck with those!
This year we decided to be active during Māori Language Week (Te Wiki o te Reo Māori) and worked hard at increasing our vocabulary. As I have been doing night classes this year, I thought I would test out my Te Reo skills on the boys and Miss Kiri at breakfast. It was fun and something we need to do more of! I need to learn more from the hostel boys who are fluent speakers - it certainly is a great asset to know both of Aotearoa's spoken languages!
This time next week we will alI be on holiday, and I hope all the boarders have a refreshing two-week break and that the seniors use their time wisely. It is not long now until the NECA examinations for the seniors, and before we know it, many of them will be leaving us.
