Halloween Parade
Our Halloween parade will be on Thursday, October 31st at 2:15 p.m. The following are guidelines for the day:
Students in grades K-5 may wear their costumes in school in the morning in preparation for the afternoon parade.
The parade will begin at 2:15 pm. Beginning with Grade Kindergarten and ending with Grade 5, all students will exit through the main entrance. Upon leaving the school, the parade will turn left at Second Street, proceed up Madison Street to Third Street, turn left on Third Street, turn left onto Monroe Street, and end at the front entrance of the school. Students will walk the parade loop two times.
Parents should stand at the edge of the curb in order to see and take pictures of their child. This way the children will have room to walk on the sidewalk in the parade.
The Hoboken High School Marching band will play music for our students during the parade.
Students will have a small classroom party with treats prior to the parade. Any parent that would like to donate a snack for the class party should dojo message their child’s teacher.
After the parade, students will return to their classroom for a Halloween snack and prepare for dismissal. Dismissal will occur in the usual format. No student may be dismissed from the parade line.
Halloween Costume Guidelines
The following are some guidelines regarding student costumes:
All costumes must be age appropriate for an elementary school. Make sure your costumes are respectful and in good taste. Be kind! Keep it fun! Please be mindful of your actions.
Costumes must not be offensive in terms of race, violence, or ethnic origin.
Costumes may not be revealing. Costumes may not show obscene materials or prohibited substances.
Students must be recognizable and should not wear costumes that limit their vision or create a safety hazard. Masks are not permitted. Face paint is allowed, but no more than 50% of the child’s face can be covered with face paint. Students must be identifiable.
Costume props, swords, and/or toy weapons, are not permitted and will be removed from students if they are brought to school.
Your cooperation in helping us to make our Halloween parade and Halloween Dance both pleasant and safe for all is truly appreciated.
Halloween Boo Bash Dance
Grades K-2 will be a parent/child dance. Grades K-2 will not be a drop off party. Grades 3-5 will be a traditional drop off dance, but parent volunteers are welcome and needed! Please reach out to your classroom teacher if you are interested in volunteering for the dance. It should be a lot of fun! The same costume guidelines apply to the Halloween Dance and Halloween Parade.
