From the Principal's Desk
Dear Jefferson families,
We are thrilled to get started with our full day schedule this Monday. Classrooms have been prepared, teachers are ready, and everything is ready to receive students. You've had a ton of information, emails, links, and surveys come your way in the past few weeks. In order to condense this a bit, a letter to condense most of this information was prepared for parents. I highly encourage you to read the following letter regarding our in-person and remote learning schedule starting this Monday. Please click on the link for the letter in ENGLISH or en ESPAÑOL. If you have any questions after reading this letter, please call our office at 630.516.7800. We look forward to getting this week started for all students and can't wait to see them dropped off at school at 8:00am daily starting on Monday! It's a great day to be a WILDCAT!!!
Respectfully,
Raul Gaston, Principal
Lunch at Jefferson
Please read the letter at the link above in the "From the Principal's Desk" for more details regarding lunch and breakfast. This will be shared with students on Monday during Advisory. However, we'd like to pay special attention to the video we will share with students during Advisory and the class prior to lunch so students know what to do for lunch. Feel free to preview the video yourself or watch it in advanced with your student if you'd like. All staff will help students along the way on Monday. Enjoy the video and a special thanks to our student and staff volunteers in creating this video.

8th Grade Promotion Update (aka: grduation)
We are well on our way with our end of the year activities and promotional exercise. Certificates have been ordered, programs have been sent to the printer, and gown measurements have been sent to our provider. We are now in the process of putting together an end of the year celebration with our PTA for our 8th grade students to celebrate the end of 2021. The promotional exercise is tentatively scheduled for the last week in May, 2021 with a combination of both virtual and in-person experiences for 8th grade students and families. More details will be provided in the next few weeks for families to plan accordingly.
Anyone want to go down memory lane?
Before Spring Break, our office staff worked on digitizing our yearbooks from 1961 to 2019! You can access them by going to the Jefferson website, clicking on the "Backpack" and clicking on the "Yearbooks" folder. Feel free to explore the great pictures and records from the transition from the Jefferson Jr. High "Comet", "Jet," "Omega," all the way to the Jefferson Middle School "Wildcats." Or how about you check out Mr. Johnson in 1995, p.22. I'd also like to introduce you to:
- Ms. Check, 1995, p.17 & 20
- Ms. Angelopoulos, 1999, p. 28
- Ms. Siegel, 2001, p.40
- Ms. Blaszak, 2003, p.34
- Ms. Walter, 2004, p.12
- Ms. Skarr, 2006, p.36
- Ms. Koch, 2008, p. 40
You may know these amazing staff members, but may not know them by these names. Check it out and the many others throughout the years. Enjoy the ride down memory lane. Also, feel free to share this link with any former students you may have contact with. They may enjoy a walk down memory lane as well. Enjoy!!!
