Dolphin News You Can Use
Volume 6: October 4th, 2022
Principal's Message
The fall weather finally arrived, and I hope your family had some time to enjoy it this past weekend! Welcome October!
We had such an amazing start to school. The fun continues with a busy October! Please note: the month of October is the busiest "dress-up" month for our students. We understand this may cause a little added stress for families, but we tried to keep it as simple as possible! As a reminder, all dress-up days are optional. My hope is that I give you plenty of notice to prepare if you choose to participate. Please be sure to review this newsletter closely for important dates and reminders.
This year for fall pictures you may choose to dress your child in their best or wear their uniform. These pictures will be used for the yearbook. Pictures will be taken on October 12th.
I hope to see many dolphin families at our annual Trunk or Treat sponsored by the PTO. I am looking forward to spending time with our students and seeing them all dressed up! More information below and in the PTO section.
I went ahead and deleted some of the repeated information section in order to shorten this newsletter. The past newsletters are on our website that you may always refer back to if needed.

Typing Club on Class Link
Our Digital Learning Team will be sponsoring two TypingClub incentives for the remainder of September thru October. The “Login Lollies” incentive will be for kindergarten thru 1st grades and the “Cool Club” incentive will be for 2nd thru 5th grades. Read more about these incentives:
- Login Lollies (K-1st grade) – The Digital Learning Team will be awarding lollipops to Kinder and 1st grade classrooms where 100% of students can log into a district device without assistance. Teachers can fill out this form Login Lollies 22-23 when 100% of their students can login successfully with their district credentials. A member of the Digital Learning team will deliver the lollipops to the classroom.
- “Cool Club” (2nd – 5th grade) – The Digital Learning Team will be awarding freezer pops to the top class at each grade level, 2nd – 5th, at every elementary campus with the highest performance (total time in program, accuracy, words per minute). These reports will be run at the end of October and freezer pops will be delivered to the winning classrooms.
Help support our Dickinson teachers by accessing typing club from home using the class link button on the lcisd website. This will also help our students get recognized and hopefully earn a treat. Please ask your child's teacher if you need help with a username or password.
Let's start typing! :)
