Spring Sports
Congratultations to our Junior Basketball Teams! We had boys and girls teams who played in after school games and final tournaments. It was so exciting to see their skill development over the season through hard work and practice. Thanks to Mr. Cahill and Mr. Gallagher for coaching.
Our track and field season is in full swing. Students in Grades 3-8 were able to participate in a tri-school meet at Storrington PS. Many students placed well and had some good personal best moments. Our regional track meet is on Monday, June 4th for those who qualify for the team. Thanks to Mr. Guild for leading the way and to Mr. Cahill, Mr. Gallagher, Mrs. Norman and Mrs. Palmer for helping with coaching the different events - a great team effort!
We had a junior and intermediate touch football team. They had a great time at a tournament at Calvin Park PS last week. Thanks for coaching Mr. Fleet!

Dress Code
With that in mind, please ensure that your child has outdoor shoes that he/she can play safely in. As the weather warms up students will be doing much of their Daily Physical Activity and Physical Education outdoors, so proper footwear will be necessary. Students are asked not to play on the climbers in flip flops.
Planning for next year
Once again we are beginning to organize for the upcoming school year. This includes staffing, timetables and new registrations. If you will be leaving our school, please let us know. As well, if you know new families in our area, please encourage them to register as soon as possible. This helps with our planning!
We are also lookng at next year’s class placements for students. As a small school, we have few options, but we do need to make some decisions in regards to class placements depending on our organization. The creation of classes is a complex task that takes into account many factors. When determining placements for next year we consider learning and academic needs, behavioural and social needs, gender balance and class size. Our ultimate goal is to create balanced classrooms that maximize the potential for student learning.
We recognize that, in some cases, you may want to give input as a parent/guardian. In these cases, please submit a written or emailed request directly to us indicating the reasons for your request. The request should identify the optimal conditions for your child’s success but should not indicate a specific teacher request. We will do our best to accommodate your child’s needs but cannot guarantee specific placements.
We appreciate your support and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
