Welcome!!
It's been a great start to this year! Books are flying off the shelf and the library is busy . Students are coming in to use the computers, work with the makerspace items, study, read, and of course to learn. The library is a learning hub which encourages innovation and inquisition.
Did you know?
- Library Hours: 7:45 am- 4:10 pm (open during lunch as well)
- Checkouts available: 3 books/magazines and/or a Nexxus tablet.
- Students are allowed to print from computers.
Library Happenings!!
Reading Celebration!
The library had a reading celebration the second week of school to celebrate all of the summer reading . We had a fantastic time with the pokemon scavenger hunt and fun challenges!
Power Up at Your Library Day! Sept. 15
On this day, students and classes enjoyed the use of Tesla kits which introduce the concept of electrical engineering. The kids had a great time learning and exploring the Tesla kits throughout the day in the library. The kits are still being used in the library for another week since Sept. 15.
eBook day!
Classes came in to the library to learn about the district's eBooks and audio books available to them through Overdrive. The library has Nexxus tablets available for check out as well!
Coming to the Harris Library!!
Author Visit!!
Jeff Anderson will be visiting with 6th graders on October 12th . Mr. Anderson is the author of "Zack DelaCruz: Me and My Big Mouth" and "Just My Luck" along with other professional books for educators. Book order forms are available from the library's libguide. Look for the forms in the Library News Box.
Fall Book Fair
The library will be hosting a book fair to help raise funds for the library. Proceeds will be used for more books, technology, and other programs to encourage reading.

The purpose of the library is to support the learning needs of students via research, reading, and technology applications. The library also allows students to be innovative with makerspace opportunities. Makerspaces are segues to inquisitive learning.
