Immersion Education – Teaching academic content in another language
Hello Fronteras Families!
Thank you to all of our wonderful family members who volunteered their time and talents on Monday for the different activities around the school!
We’re happy to announce that picture retakes will be Monday, Nov. 14th. More information will be going home soon. If your child will be retaking a photo on the 14th, we highly recommend that you are present to offer assistance with your child’s pose and/or smile. We’ve been fortunate each year to work with our photographers to offer picture day as a fundraiser. We appreciate everyone’s continued support!
Just a reminder that next Friday, November 11th, Fronteras students DO have school. Buses will run as normal.
Keep a look out for information about our exciting 2-day Hispanic Cultural Celebration leading into Thanksgiving Break.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Most Sincerely,
Mrs. Hutchins

A Message from Art Class
Dear Fronteras Families,
I am so excited your child’s Square-1-Art catalogue was sent home Thursday, October 27, 2016! Enclosed you should have found a page of stickers for you to keep. You should also see the many items that you can purchase with your child’s art printed on them. The deadline for all order forms to be returned is November 4, 2016. Please make checks out to Fronteras. Students can turn forms in at the office or bring them to the Art Room! Online orders can be made up until November 7, 2016. I do encourage online orders if possible. You can order online using the code provided for your child in their custom catalogue. Unfortunately, we cannot place orders after these dates.
Our school is scheduled to receive all purchased products by the end of the day on November 29, 2016 and will be delivered to your child’s homeroom teacher. Orders can be picked up Wednesday morning, Novermber 30, 2016 or will go home with your child at the end of the day. If there is a delay, I will let all families know ASAP.
Fronteras can earn up to 35% of sales depending on the level of participation. All moneys raised will benefit our art program here at Fronteras. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will be available at Parent-Teacher Conference. You can also email me or call before and after school. I have been participating in Square-1-Art for six years and have always been happy with the quality of produces that our family has purchased.

What is an APC Board?
The Fronteras APC (Academic Policy Committee) is a group of elected teachers, staff, and parents who meet the second Tuesday of the month to discuss pertinent issues regarding our school. We welcome parents, staff and families to join us. You have the opportunity to speak by signing in right before our meetings begin. Don’t hesitate to stop us in the halls or email board members with any concerns. Next week, because of Election Day, we will be meeting Monday November 7th at 6pm in Señora Cooks classroom. Our board next Wednesday will be participating in Board Training that we hope will help us to learn skills that will allow us to communicate clearly and use our time efficiently when we meet. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at our meetings.
